AYUSH Quality Mark and Integrative Care: What Patients Should Know
By ATTPL HEALTHCARE Editorial Team · · 2 min read
India launched the Ayush Quality Mark in December 2025. Learn how it relates to Ayurveda, Yoga and integrative treatment choices.
A new quality framework
According to a government document dated May 2026 and press reports, the Prime Minister launched the Ayush Quality Mark in December 2025 as an internationally aligned assurance framework for Ayush products and services. It is meant to help patients and buyers identify quality providers.
Using AYUSH wisely
- Use AYUSH therapies alongside, not instead of, necessary modern medical care for serious conditions.
- Tell every doctor about all therapies and herbal products you use.
- Choose practitioners registered under the relevant council.
- Be careful about claims of guaranteed cures.
Common services
Ayurveda consultations, Panchakarma, Yoga therapy, naturopathy and rehabilitation programmes are widely available, including in Rajasthan.
How to evaluate an AYUSH provider
Check that the practitioner is registered with the relevant state or central council and that the facility meets hygiene and safety standards. Ask about the treatment plan, expected duration, diet and lifestyle advice and the sources of herbal medicines. Be cautious of providers who promise guaranteed cures or ask you to stop prescribed medicines without consulting your doctor.
Bring a list of all your medicines and supplements to every consultation.
Safety with herbal products
Herbal does not automatically mean harmless. Some preparations may interact with prescription drugs or affect conditions such as pregnancy, liver or kidney disease. Buy from reputable sources, check labels and expiry dates and report any adverse reaction to your practitioner and doctor.
Integrative care done well
Integrative care works best when practitioners communicate. Yoga, physiotherapy, nutrition and counselling can support recovery alongside modern medicine in conditions such as back pain, stress and lifestyle disorders. Decide goals together, review progress and adjust the plan.
